On Tuesday 28th September, the Læra Institute was privileged to take part in a student symposium on Circumpolar research organised in conjunction with the Northern Forum's third Northern Sustainable Development Forum and 30th anniversary conference. The symposium, aimed at university students studying the Circumpolar North, was organised and moderated by Irina Dranaeva, one of the members of our Steering Committee. Two other members of our Steering Committee gave presentations to the students—Heather Nicol, one of our Academic Co-Directors, introduced the Læra Institute and our work, and Gail Fondahl spoke about 'Circumpolar collaborations: A richer understanding of the North(s)'. Recordings of the symposium are available on the Northern Forum's YouTube channel in both English and Russian.
We are grateful to the Northern Forum for the invitation to participate in their event, and we wish them all the best as they celebrate '30 years of caring for the North'!
